How to Use:
- Preparation:
- Restrain the calf securely to ensure it remains still during the application process.
- Clip the hair around the horn buds to allow direct contact between the paste and the skin.
- Wear protective gloves to avoid skin contact with the paste.
- Application:
- Using the applicator, apply a small amount of dehorner paste directly to each horn bud. Ensure the paste covers the entire horn bud area.
- Take care to avoid spreading the paste to surrounding skin or eyes, as it is caustic and can cause irritation or injury.
- Keep the calf restrained for a few minutes to allow the paste to begin working.
- Post-Application Care:
- Release the calf and monitor it for a short period to ensure it does not rub the treated area against other surfaces or animals.
- Prevent the calf from getting wet for at least 24 hours to ensure the paste remains effective.
- Check the treated area regularly for any signs of irritation or infection. If excessive irritation or infection occurs, consult a veterinarian.
- Maintenance:
- Store the dehorner paste in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and animals.
- Ensure the container is tightly closed after each use to maintain the paste’s effectiveness.
